Mastika is a natural resin from the pistacia lentiscus tree which is an arid, subtropical species that grows in coastal mediterranean regions.

Mastika kills helicobactor pylori. (Hp) a type of bacteria, a bug or a germ that lives in the sticky fluid/mucus which coats the lining of the human stomach and duodenum. It is usually a life long infection that is closely associated with peptic ulcers. In the mid 1980's a group of doctors carried out clinical trials on patients with Peptic Ulcers and confirmed that Mastic Gum does cure Peptic Ulcers.

In the late 1990's doctors and scientists at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham, England, also proved that Mastic Gum cures Peptic Ulcers.
