N-Acetyl Glucosamine (NAG) is an amino sugar (composed of amino acids and glucose) which is involved in the formation of tissue components including cartilage, ligaments and tendons plus the connective tissues comprising the lining of the intestinal tract and muscles. N-Acetyl Glucosamine is Glucosamine with an acetic acid molecule attached to it rather than sulphur as in Glucosamine Sulphate.
